The Grounds
The Market
The Market is the trading heart of the Medieval Fair — around forty stalls of leatherwork, blades, parchment, provisions and street food, plus a dedicated Mead & Ale tent. It is open from gates-open at 10:00 until close at 18:00 in Benoni on Saturday 8 August 2026.
Wander the rows and you will find makers, not resellers: a leatherworker stitching a belt pouch, a smith with knives still warm, a scribe lettering names in iron-gall ink. Most of what is for sale was made by the person selling it.
When you need to sit, the food stalls and the Mead & Ale tent anchor the Market Place all day, with vegetarian and halaal options on hand. You are welcome to bring your own picnic basket too — coolers and folding chairs are fine.
Bring cash and a card; some stalls take only one. The Market never closes during the day, so it is the natural place to drift back to between the parade, the combat ring, and the main stage.
Who it's for: Shoppers, foodies, and anyone who wants a hand-made keepsake from the day rather than a factory souvenir.
